Pairing connects two phones so notifications captured on one appear on the other, end-to-end encrypted. Both people opt in with a QR code scanned in person, sharing is off by default, and either side can unpair at any time. No accounts and no cloud storage are involved.
Both phones should read Paired · Connected. Your partner's notifications now appear under the second tab on Home. Names are exchanged automatically, so each side shows the other's name right away.
Encryption: a 256-bit key is generated on your device and exchanged during pairing. It is never sent to a server. Each message uses AES-256-GCM.
Tap Unpair and confirm. The connection ends on both devices — the other phone shows a notice that your partner ended the connection. Notifications already received stay on each device until deleted. (With Delete Protection on, you'll enter your PIN first.)
No. Pairing is independent of any account — both devices just need NotiLog and the pairing code.
Best in person: the QR carries the encryption key. Pasting the code works, but the key then travels through whichever app you use to send it.
Yes — a 256-bit key exchanged at pairing, AES-256-GCM per message. The relay only carries ciphertext.
Yes, via ntfy.sh. Both phones need internet. The relay sees metadata (topic, timing, size, IP), never content.
Tap Unpair — it ends on both devices. Received notifications stay until deleted.
